I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Union College. My office is located within Union College's Center for Neuroscience in Butterfield Hall.

I hold a B.A. and B.S. in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Florida, as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.

My research focuses on speech perception, hearing loss and cognitive control.  All of these issues are very important in aging, so much of my research involves older adult populations.  My approach is based on applying fundamentals of cognitive psychology to issues in hearing science, with an emphasis on neuroscience.

I have a strong interest in teaching, and have served as an instructor for Introduction to Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology, and Introduction to Psychological Statistics.  Teaching interests include Research Methods in Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Psychology and Language, and Human Memory.

I have had exceptional mentors in my career! Check out my neurotree:
Jonathan Peelle, Washington University in St. Louis
Art Wingfield, Brandeis University
Mitch Sommers, Washington University in St. Louis
Larry Jacoby, Washington University in St. Louis, (thesis sponsor)
Peter Delaney, University of North Carolina, Greensboro
Lili Sahakyan, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
